ALLEVIATE APP
Capture, Create, Write! A safe space to channel your creativity.
Alleviate has taken into account the lack of access to recreational outlets as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. In response to this, our app acts as an outlet for victims to express their
emotions through the development of art or creative content. Daily prompts will guide our artists towards seeing the beauty of everyday objects, capturing this visually. We understand our users come from different locations and circumstances. Therefore, we have opted to build a digitally inclusive app that does not require internet access.
At the same time, Alleviate strongly believes that ‘hope is where the heart is,’ and the heart is
driven by our ability to create in a safe environment. To further optimise the experience of our users, we have included a calendar that tracks the progress of art. See your skills develop
and learn more about your passions. But most importantly, create at your own pace.
We have also included a HELP button, which discreetly sends your location and a help signal
to the appropriate authorities if you are feeling threatened or unsafe.

APP FEATURES

CAPTURE
It’s the small things that count. Reflect on the prompt and take photos of objects (plants, flowers, pots, and pans etc.) around you.
CREATE
Paint yourself a picture based on the daily prompt with an array of colours to highlight how you feel.

WRITE
Three words, a poem or a story. Everything is open to interpretation. Tell your own story as an artist based on the daily prompt or write down some thoughts.
PROFILE
The profile feature can be set up any time. Alleviate Artists also have the option of creating work anonymously, and can instead create a super persona to represent them. No personal details are required. The Alleviate app acts as a personal journal or short term
replacement for support during this global crisis. A sharing function will also be enabled, giving users the opportunity to share their stories through their creations.

This app will strive to give artists their own independence and ultimately interconnects to our grassroots campaign which will work towards showcasing all forms of art in a gallery or installation setting. This proposed art tour will take place once the Covid-19 restrictions allow.
